How to find skin color of human body? Also how in java?

Hi..friends..i m making project on face detection. can any one help in how to find skin color using java? you can mail me on r.b.kamdar@gmail.com :::Thanks

How to find skin color of human body? Also how in java?
why would you use java to find skin color? just take a photo of some skin, open it up in photoshop, use the eye-dropper tool, and check the RGB values.

i'm kinda joking, i think your question is more like, how can i use java to compare someone's skin color to a skin color that's stored on a database or in a file.

i think it's pretty easy if you know how to program in java. (your question wasn't "how do i program in java?"). just find the closest match of the RGB values... or am i missing something?

Why the water can't pass through the skin of human body ?

water does pass through living human skin, in small amounts, in fact it is the best and cheapest moisturizer.

Why the water can't pass through the skin of human body ?
Generally you need to be fairly water tight or you would leak to death! Really, you are about 98% water and if you were porous you would swell %26amp; dehydrate multiple times through out the day and life would be a nightmare--you could never be homeostatic.

Why did Adolf Hitler used the skin of human beings for his seat covers?

And blanket of human hair. Thats why he is remembered as the worst leader in history.

Some muslims like him because they hate jews and Hitler also hated them.

If there is no hate in this world, no innocent will die before time.

Why did Adolf Hitler used the skin of human beings for his seat covers?
Because he could. Next question.
Reply:he also used human skin for lamp shades and human flesh for fertilizer. look down in ancient times when nero persecuted the christians. nero used the humand bodies as source of light in the arena -he barbecued the dead bodies for entertainment. perhaps nero and hitler have similar genes
Reply:because he was a sick b******
Reply:Maybe u should call him %26amp; ask him.
Reply:Ummm, he didn't use human skin for is seat covers. He had a phobia for those kinds of things. Hell, Himmler almost passed out while witnessing executions. Hitler too was squeemish.

hitler by showing doing all these tactics of useing jews skins as his seat covers watn to prove or show it to his people that all jews are lesser humanbeings in way they are all made by god just for the sake of germans whom he perpectuated as as top ordr huamnbeings, if you rad his book mehn kaph you will know all these bullshit it is like some of justfy that other creatures are created for the ske of hman beings to enjoy the same way he justfied his killings. the point is wehn we kill a chicken do we feel bad about killing it? why? because we feel that they are born to be eaten by us and we treat them as anyother vegitable the samething he wat to achive by doing all these so that his country men dont feel bad about killing fellow humanbeings cos e made tham feel that thir lives are useless like that of gosts and sheep he amde them fantics to server his larger goal of killing and aslo spred a threat persipsion from which his men get confidence, even talibal does the same spred the terror what thy get out of killing people by slitting the troat in front of the cam? killing them silently doesnt crete terror at teh same time thir supproters fel ahppy and jojn ranks.
Reply:He was a horrible Osama of the past.
Reply:All of you sheeple are incredible. Confirming an untruth you assume is a truth just because someone asked it.

Hitler did NOT have seat covers made of human skin. He did NOT have a blanket made out of human hair. Hitler was an absolute neat freak who worried about germs and crap like that.

Dr. Joseph Mengele was the one who carried out experiments with humans and their body parts. Dr. Mengele DID have lamp shades made out of human skin.

Both sick f|_|cks if you ask me.

toni_01_13 - Next time, please get your facts straight.

All of you dumba$$es confirming this - Next time, please check your facts.
Reply:Ill have to kinda disagree with everyone. Mengele did do all kinds of human experiments ..mostly with twins...The ones who made lampshades was the Commander of Buchenwald and his wife.Hair was collected in the camps mixed with other fibers to be used for material, and bodies were used as fertilizer (Germans still only keep you in the ground for only so long, then the plot will be reused, they put lime into graves so you will decompose faster. So really everyone in germany winds up as fertilizer at some point.Again get facts right, as this only helps those who said holocaust never happened.
Reply:Hitler didn't do that. As a matter of fact, he saw an execution in a concentration camp ONCE and could not take it. He stopped visiting the camps all together.

When does an unborn child become a human life? When the heart beats, skin, hair, fingers, toes are formed?

Maybe the child has become a human life if it can do things, like such it's thumb, yawn, squeeze your finger with their hand?

A what age does this unborn child feel touch and pain with its delicate skin and nerve endings?

When does an unborn child become a human life? When the heart beats, skin, hair, fingers, toes are formed?
When you put the necessary material together and conception is achieved you have the makings of life therefore life. If you want to stop a baby from being born remember God is watching and keep your pants on. Both of you. If you screw up don't kill a baby to make up for it.

Someday you will stand before that child and look in the eyes of the one you killed.

I meant this generally not aimed at anyone in particular unless it's you.
Reply:I beleive around 10-15 days after conception the embryo, zygote, blastocyst or whatever it's called is infused with blood, thus being a human life.

To the ppl giving me thumbs down...whatever I JUST did a college report about this and stem cell research.

Just about anything with the label "embryo" or "fetus" arouses many people's concerns about the dignity of human life or human potential. It is important to remember that a three-day-old blastocyst is not yet even an embryo. Any particular cell is as likely to become part of the placenta, which will be discarded at birth, as it is to become part of a "potential person." Ethics commissions in several nations, including Australia, the United Kingdom (the Warnock Report), the United States (National Institutes of Health Human Embryo Research Panel, 1994), and, more recently, Denmark, have approved research on the human embryo up to 14 days. Up to 14 days, it is more properly called a "pre-embryo," because the embryo is not differentiated from other tissue. At 14 days, a structure called the "primitive streak" appears, which will become the brain and spinal column and which differentiates embryo from placenta. Before 14 days, there is no possibility of pain or sentience and no cells that will definitely become part of an individual.
Reply:It is a human life once it is conceived.
Reply:when it asks for money.
Reply:At the moment of conception The development of a human being begins with fertilization, a process by which two highly specialized cells, the spermatozoon from the male and the oocyte from the female, unite to give rise to a new organism, the zygote."

[Langman, Jan. Medical Embryology. 3rd edition. Baltimore: Williams and Wilkins, 1975, p. 3]

there is no greater pivotal moment in our growth and development than when 23 chromosomes from our father join with 23 chromosomes from our mother to form a unique, new biologic entity who heretofore simply had not existed.

This new biological individual is complete, has a gender, and is fully and uniquely programmed and equipped to grow and develop and change until death. All he or she needs is nutrition and a warm place to grow. To say that an embryo has the "potential" to become a human being is biologically and technically imprecise – and dangerous.

Is a 10-year-old boy or girl more a human being than a 1-year-old?
Reply:Any benchmark we come up with is arbitrary and subjective.

The truth of the matter is, when the egg is fertilized by the sperm, a human has started developing.

First egg cell split? That would be a good definition for me because before that, how do you know if the egg has been fertilized?

And as soon as that cell splits, it is a human. With all the rights and protections it deserves, no matter what any selfish mothers would tell you.
Reply:At the moment of conception is when a life has begun.

Just because it doesn't look like a person or have the ability to communicate in any fashion yet doesn't make it less of a human.
Reply:I feel that it's a life from the moment of conception. There are several different opinions on this. Some people believe like I do, others believe that life begins when the heart begins to beat, and there are still others that don't believe that life begins until birth.
Reply:At conception.

Can human saliva heal skin infection?

what do you do if you have a skin infection?

thanks.

Can human saliva heal skin infection?
well, saliva has some enzymes that kill some bacteria, but it really can't heal skin infection

if it is so easy, everyone would be licking their wounds now

it is better to use some medicine to put on the infected skin area, rather than using saliva
Reply:it actually would more likely cause it, if i have a skin infection i use antibacterial ointment from the pharmacy, if that doesnt clear it up then i see my doctor.
Reply:Skin infection needs a specialist to deal with. You have to consult one as soon as possible. Keep to the schedule of medication as strictly as possible. When it is healed, don't stop the medicine.

Treating skin diseases is something like extiguishing a fire. Even when the fire is extinguished we keep spraying around and never stop unless we are quite sure that every thing is gone.
Reply:No human saliva will not heal skin infection . any local application will suppress the infection but it will come back

best is to leave it like that, but keep clean and open. skin / surface cure must come from within -

drink plenty of water and eat simple light food - skin cure will come - consult good Homeopath

Human who has skin like snake?

i've heard about a person who has skin like that of a snake (i.e. scales). I have not seen picture of that person or read of him/her in detail. Do you know if such person exists? I heard that the person can strip their skin layer every few months or so (like a snake) and the skin layer just rebuilds itself with out any pain.

Human who has skin like snake?
Yes it is a real condition it is called ichthyosis which means "fish scales" the doctor thought my son had it when he was young but it was a severe case of exzema.

Reply:Helpful Tips for Adults with Acne

Acne is not a malady-affecting teenagers only. Some women never get over their acne problem. For others, acne may reappear at or after menopause. Usually, the two main factors involved are stress and hormones. Although the acne lesions may not be severe, it is distressing for a woman to discover a cystic pimply lump on her chin, which is a common area, involved. The area of the neck just below the jawbone is another commonly affected location. A common form of acne found in mature women and men, is acne rosacea, which annoyingly manifests itself as a rosy complexion together with acne breakouts.

The best approach to tackling the problem of adult acne is to first, consult your dermatologist. The doctor can prescribe an oral antibiotic, which will often help control the problem. You might also be given topical metronidazole which helps control acne rosacea. Resistant cases of adult acne may require a course of low dose Accutane, a powerful acne medication given only to treat severe and resistant acne.

Secondly, you can help your skin by 1) Avoiding harsh products such as those containing a high percentage of alcohol and drying ingredients. Use only very mild soap. 2) By removing your makeup thoroughly each night using a gentle cleansing lotion. 3) By using only products that are tested to be non-comedogenic (will not clog pores). 4) For those with acne rosacea, by avoiding triggers such as certain foods, alcohol, heat, cold or sun exposure. For more rosacea info, please refer to article "Red Face of Rosacea" on this website...

Food additives: How much does the benzoate added in wonton or dumpling skin affect human health?

I have been making Chinese potstickers that people were going crazy for, but I noticed that in the ingredients, Benzoate is added to keep the freshness of the product. How much do they usually put in one package of dumpling skin(approx.42pieces)??

Food additives: How much does the benzoate added in wonton or dumpling skin affect human health?
I think benzoate (sodium benzoate or potassium benzoate) acidifies the dough a little to prevent bacteria and fungus growth.

You're worried about it in wonton skins, yet benzoate is quite common and you probably ingest more through soda than eating wontons.

From this website, most foods use at most 0.1% (by weight, not volume). So for every 1 ounce (28.35 grams) of wonton skin, there is at most 0.001 ounces (0.028 grams) of sodium benzoate.

http://www.madsci.org/posts/archives/200...

Preservatives http://www.cfsan.fda.gov/~dms/foodic.htm...

Prevent food spoilage from bacteria, molds, fungi, or yeast (antimicrobials); slow or prevent changes in color, flavor, or texture and delay rancidity (antioxidants); maintain freshness

Products

Fruit sauces and jellies, beverages, baked goods, cured meats, oils and margarines, cereals, dressings, snack foods, fruits and vegetables

Name of Chemicals

Ascorbic acid, citric acid, sodium benzoate, calcium propionate, sodium erythorbate, sodium nitrite, calcium sorbate, potassium sorbate, BHA, BHT, EDTA, tocopherols (Vitamin E)
Reply:more than likely not an amount you can detect it is just another salt for the food psychotics to attack..

sodium benzoate

NOUN:

The sodium salt of benzoic acid, NaC7H5O2, used as a food preservative, an antiseptic, and an intermediate in dye manufacture and in the production of pharmaceuticals. Also called benzoate of soda .

Remember listing some compound with NO amount = less than 1% of total volume...☺
Reply:Relatively large amounts of benzoic acid are found in cranberries and lingonberries. It's quite harmless. In fact, it's the benzoic acid that kills bacteria in the urinary tract (although sodium benzoate won't have that beneficial effect). That's why cranberries are recommended for urinary infections.

Skin infection from cat to human?

hi i think i have developed a skin infection due to my stray cat. my question is does this also affect the human eye? what is the way to get rid of it. for both, the cat and me? anyone have experience with this?

Skin infection from cat to human?
There are so many things this could be. My husband got ringworm(a skin fungus) from the neighborhood stray cats. And I have a cat I've recently brought home from the humane society that has chlymidia in her eye, and the vet has informed me this could be transferred to the human eye. You need to schedule the cat to the vet, and yourself to the doc for treatment.
Reply:see a doctor
Reply:What kind of infection do you have. Need more info to answer your question. If you have Scabies then both you and your cat need to go and see your doctors from treatment.
Reply:my brothers eye got swelled when he was playing with a stray cat he had to go to the doctor you should see a doctor and take the cat to the vet
Reply:ask a physician and then get some seriouse help. oh and loose tha cat
Reply:Yes, when I was 12 my cat scratched my hand and it got bably infected. Cats claws are so dirty that when they scratch you, you very likely to get infected. Go to the DR. and make sure its ok and he might put you on a anti-biotic for a while to help the wound stay clean. Good Luck, hope this helps a little.
Reply:I once caught a Staph infection from my dog. A Staph infection can be pretty serious and can cause pink eye (among other things) in people. An antibiotic for your pet and you is required. If your eyes are red and itchy, you could also be allergic to the cat.
Reply:Animal scabies (Sarcoptic mange) not infrequently attacks human beings, especially the owners of affected lap dogs or cats, and grooms attending mangy horses. There is no incubation period, the disease occurring immediately the parasite is transferred to the human skin. The burrows characteristic of human scabies are not found, the eruption being a small red popular rash which affects the arms or other parts which have been in contact with the infected animal. Sometimes the eruption is very profuse and widespread. The best place to find the acarus (a genus of arthropods, including mites) is the point of elbow. When the source of infection is detected and cut off the disease tend to die out of itself, but treatment with benzyl benzoate or gamma benzene hexachloride should always be instituted.

It most commonly appears first on the face, around the eyes, or at the corners of the mouth, and on the forelimbs.
Reply:We just adopted a kitten at the shelter. His brothers and sisters were infected with what is called "ring worm". Actually, it is not a worm but a fungal infection. You can pass that type of infection between animal and human and vice versa. You will want to check on if you have it. Incidentally, a cat that has ring worm, its hair will fall out first in the area that is infected.
Reply:Cats scratch fever is an infection that humans can catch from cats. Cat scratch disease (CSD) is a bacterial disease caused by Bartonella henselae. Most people with CSD have been bitten or scratched by a cat and developed a mild infection at the point of injury. Lymph nodes, especially those around the head, neck, and upper limbs, become swollen. Additionally, a person with CSD may experience fever, headache, fatigue, and a poor appetite. Rare complications of B. henselae infection are bacillary angiomatosis and Parinaud's oculolandular syndrome.

Some people get an eye infection known as Parinaud oculoglandular syndrome, with symptoms including: a small sore on the conjunctiva (the membrane lining the eye or inner eyelid), redness of the eye, and swollen lymph nodes in front of the ear.

Home Treatment

A child who has cat scratch disease does not need to be isolated from other family members. Bed rest is not necessary, but it may help if your child tires easily. If your child feels like playing, encourage quiet play while being careful to avoid injuring swollen lymph nodes. To ease the soreness of these nodes, try warm, moist compresses or give your child nonprescription medicines like acetaminophen (such as Tylenol) or ibuprofen (such as Advil or Motrin).

There are types of ringworm fungi that do infect pets and wild animals and can be given to humans.

You can even get ringworm by having contact with objects that have had contact with an infected person or pet, such as a brush, towel, or hat. Whenever you have an infection in your body it can affect your eyes because your eyes are like glands and are sensitive to infecion.

An over the counter antifungal cream or ointment is the usual treatment for ringworm, except for tinea capitis, which is much more difficult to treat and often requires several months of an oral medication (like Griseofulvin).

Prescription topical creams, suspensions and lotions are also available, like Loprox, Spectazole and Oxistat are also available
Reply:I caught a skin fungus from my cat some years ago. It was easily cured, but I had to deep clean my entire house with special products and of course cure the cat. I do not know what your infection is, but I suggest you go immediately to the doctor and then take your cat to the vet. Hope all goes well.
Reply:There is not much you can catch from a cat....MOST diseases, ailments, etc. are SPECIES SPECIFIC. However you can catch ringworm from a cat. It is not actually a worm, but a fungal infection. It affects the hair follicles so you would get it on arms, legs, armpits, sometimes the face. I have not heard of it affecting eyes but I guess it would be possible if it affected your eyelashes. Check your cat for patches of missing hair and scaly skin....these are symptons of ringworm. You could have something totally unrelated to your cat, or you could be suffering from some sort of allergy. Take kitty to the vet to outrule ringworm...then you could check with your own doctor for a diagnosis.
Reply:It the rash round in shape? It could be ringworm. You need to take the cat to the vet so he/she can be treated and then see your doctor to confirm your rash. It is easily treatable.
Reply:IT IS AN ALLERGY. You have never had an allergic reaction before????

Differences between rayon, nylon and polyester ? Are their impact/ influence on human body / skin different ?

nylon = slippery/smooth, has a stiffness. Keeps in body heat for warmth - - body don't 'breathe' thru it. Good for jackets.

polyester = smooth, delicate, limp, snags easily. Keeps in body heat - - body don't 'breathe' thru it. Pretty for blouse.

Rayon = similar to cotton but has sizing added for body. When washed in water, sizing (sizing is like a soft starching) will be gone and it isn't truly rayon unless you readd sizing again. Body can 'breathe' thru it. Makes nice dress suits and dresses.

None of fabrics are known for common allergies or a skin irritant.

What's the best way to learn all of the Human bones & Skin composition for an Anatomy class?

Make up a song or a rhyme; flash cards, cut up a picture of a skeleton into individual bones (write name on back) and put it together (over and over) into a complete skeleton as you name the bone and it's specific areas (if you need to know them such as greater trochanter etc). Don't try %26amp; learn them all at once. Break it up by region so as to not overload.

What's the best way to learn all of the Human bones %26amp; Skin composition for an Anatomy class?
clear your concept. every bone has its own reason of putting its name.you should learn it day by day 1 bone a day thats how i learn the scientefic names of vegetables and fruits.

In the Simpsons, why are all the human's skin yellow?

They ran out of caucasian ink at the animators in Korea and it was too expensive to buy more at the time, but they had more yellow than they'd ever use. So they just used yellow, and they had to keep it once they started it.

How did the the 2 tips of human color skin(black %26amp; white)apeared?adam %26amp; eva?one was blak %26amp; the other white?
No one knows when, where or how human life began on this planet. It's all speculation. Some of the theories are based on scientific evidence, but everyone knows that they are just possible scenarios and full of gaps.

Someone lied to you by saying that "white people were allways apriciated" and that "black people...were the "sclaves" of white people. It just nonsense that racists use to assert that black people are sub-human or animals.

If you believe that Adam and Eve were the first humans ever, and that God created them, and we are all direct descendants, and no other humans can or have ever existed on this planet; then you're basically screwed because nothing in life will ever make sense.

Why is the Devil depicted in human form, with red skin, horns, and a tail?

If Lucifer was turned into a serpent (Snake or dragon), why is he depicted in human form, with red skin, horns, and a pointed tail? And with a trident? What does the trident signify?

Why is the Devil depicted in human form, with red skin, horns, and a tail?
The Roman Catholic church took characteristics from Pagan gods like Pan and Cernnunos and created "the devil". Pan and Cernunnos had horns, the cloven feet were from Pan. The trident is from a Witches' tool called a stang. They did it to convince everyone that the Pagan gods were worshiping the devil. It was all a conspiracy.
Reply:Signifies he loves to be thought of as a cartoon character not to be taken seriously.
Reply:To help people to recognize him.
Reply:The modern depiction of the devil originated in ancient depictions of Pan, and evolved over the years.
Reply:because its scary??
Reply:Most modern views of Satan come from the Middle Ages.

Similar to directors trying to get you to come see Saw II, pastors in the Middle Ages kept thinking up more and more radical views of Satan to scare the hell (pun intended) out of the congregation.

People started showing up to church for the "horror movie" sermons.
Reply:It's just a cartoon character. The Devil has been depicted in thousands of ways.
Reply:imagery of lucifer was modelled off pagan (especially celtic) gods. it was hoped that by depicting the people's gods as lucifer the devil, they might turn to christianity.

Art started showing Devil in an evil manner (Pictures still do today). It was more to frighten or scare. Look evil-the Dragon or the serpent with his trident. Trident represents icon like sceptor

(he rules underworld) or his staff. Many turned it into a pitch fork

for casting lost souls into hell!

Imagination!
Reply:It's just a human rendering of that which is evil. Lucifer takes many faces and he is not ugly. Remember he was the most beautiful angel which sort of shows us that we should not judge by looks.

Reply:Originally the Devil was depicted as the Celtic God Cernunnos so that followers of Him could be tortured and killed and their land seized by the Christians during The Inquisition.
Reply:The bible says that Lucifer was Gods right hand angel. And it doesn't say anywhere in the bible that he looks ugly, or red, or carries a trident. He might be charming and handsom. In genesis he takes the form of a serpent.

How can some cells in the human body, such as skin cells, continue to divide...?

How cansome cells in the human body, such as skin cells, to continue to divide, while others, such as nerve cells, stop dividing after they reach maturity?

How can some cells in the human body, such as skin cells, continue to divide...?
It's to do with their function.

Skin cells are constantly being exposed to toxic, damaging conditions. So they are constantly being sloughed off our skin after dying, and will require constant replacement. The same is true of the cells lining our intestines.

Other cells - such as the uterus lining - are similarly being lost in large numbers as part of their function. Red blood cells are specialised to carry oxygen, and have lost their nucleus - so they cannot divide. But they are constantly being replaced from populations of hematopoetic stem cells in your bone marrow, which undergo constant division.

Nerve cells, OTOH, are not normally exposed to such harsh conditions, and - in order to function - they *must* maintain their interconnections, so cannot just die off without consequence (even if they were replaced). Therefore they are not specialised to divide.

Most cell types in the body are sort of "halfway" between these two extremes: the cells don't normally divide, but they can be induced to do so by certain conditions. Muscle cells, for example, do not normally divide, but they will do so if you exercise a lot.

Why we the human had a soft and lovely corner for white skinned human and reverse for black skin?

y do we have love for the white skinned people and had hatred for other color people

Why we the human had a soft and lovely corner for white skinned human and reverse for black skin?
"We" don't, ignorant people do. Color should have no boundaries!
Reply:I guess some people are stupied. With my son it's not the black guy over there or the fat girl in the corner. It's the guy in bluejeans and a yellow shirt or the girl with the flowers on her shirt sitting in the corner. He is old enough to know the differnce in size and color but he knows we all are humans with feelings.

The hatred others carry must be a form of haterd for themselves.
Reply:what a ridiculous question, it's people like you that make racism a problem, it's people like you who keep making it an issue, when in reality most normal decent human beings don't hate black people. Funny how it is never white people that make any issues over the colour of someone skin.

I have a question about the human`s skin?

i heard soon that if someone was thrown to hell

i mean if he was exposed to fire

he will feel pains only because of his skin

i mean that if it became roasted i will not feel any pain

is it true??

can you give me any site proving that ???

I have a question about the human`s skin?
pain is perceived because of the receptors present in the skin.

It is these receptors that carry the pain impulses from the skin to the brain and then the pain is felt. if by any means the skin is ripped off its pain receptors then there will be no pain sensation. the best example to understand is that of a person with 3rd degree burns. in such patients the sense of pain is much lowered because of the destruction of the receptors..

In the quoted ayat of the holy quran Allah (swt) tries to explain that "We will give u a new skin each time u are thrown into the fire so that u may feel the pain each time".Allah has quoted it long before that pain occurs only because of the skin (which science is now trying to prove.)

eventhough i dont remember of the specific site this is from my knowledge that im trying 2 help u understand the ayat.

Allah knows best.

Reply:Common sense will prove it to you! First and second-degree burns hurt, but more often than not, serious third-degree burns do not hurt because the damage has killed the nerves and the victim cannot feel anything.
Reply:This is true, you only feel through your nerve endings found in your skin. One these nerve endings are destroyed, you will no longer have pain signals sent to your brain.

heres a site that mentions pain levels in burn types.

Should fictional androids have human-like skin, hair, etc., or just humanoid form?

I'm writing a science fiction novel about androids with them as the main characters. They've got the mind of a human and the humanoid form, but I'm wondering just how much to make them look like humans. More like the androids of I,Robot, or like Data on Star Trek? What do you think? And, not logically. Just you preference.

Should fictional androids have human-like skin, hair, etc., or just humanoid form?
I always interpreted the difference between "android" and some other humanoid-robot as being the attempt to make something very human-like.

There's plenty of good reason to make a robot of the future in a generally humanoid shape -- primarily, because it lets them replace us. A robot that's roughly my size could use my tools, drive my car, etc. But if that's all, I would still call them robots, not androids.

An android is taking that one step further, creating a robot, or an artificial human (think "Bladerunner") who's not just able to be our replacements, but one of us. Certainly, Star Trek's Data looks different enough from real humans to stand out, and yet, he IS regarded as a life form in his own right, not treated as a machine.

I think it's up to you, and perhaps tied to plot elements in your story, whether your androids would pass for human, or simply closely emulate humans. But that's the distinction I'd place between robot and android.
Reply:My preference is for the more human form, even a bit more human-looking than Data. I'm thinking of the androids in "Blade Runner."
Reply:'Androids' look human, so make it look like Data

An android is a robot designed to resemble a human, usually both in appearance and behavior. The word derives from the Greek andr-, meaning "man, male", and the suffix -eides, used to mean "of the species; alike" (from eidos "species"). The term was first mentioned by Albertus Magnus in 1270 and was popularized by the French writer Villiers in his 1886 novel L'Ève future, although the term "android" appears in US patents as early as 1863 in reference to miniature humanlike toy automations.
Reply:The look and feel of your characters have a big impact on the way that the audience will interpret your themes. A common theme in stories with robots and androids hinges on the question: 'just how human are they'? You should choose your imagery to support the themes you want to explore.

Now, here's where contrast can be useful.

If you want to make the point that they're really *very* human, you may be better off making them *look* inhuman, but act *very* human. The contrast will be very memorable, as it is in 'I, Robot'. Likewise, if your androids are monstrously *inhuman*, the more human you make them look, the weirder or creepier they'll feel. We see that with Data in 'Star Trek'.

Good luck!
Reply:The Robot in Bicentennial Man (movie - played by Robin Williams I think) was also human looking as well.

Data was a great character.
Reply:I liked the way Jude Law looked in A.I.
Reply:I think it depends on the situation the android is in. For example, if the android is serving or working with humans or, in a humanitarian way, the android should be more human-looking. Why? It makes the humans (especially those is troubled situations) feel more comfortable. If the android is say, a factory worker, little better than a robotic arm, it can look as machine-like as you want it.
Reply:How about a modular construction. Kind of like Clifford D. Simak's "All the Traps of Earth". The robot there was essentially man like in form but he had all these attachments to his body that he can snap/screw on as needed. That can easily be adapted to an android character.

What defines the human's skin color?

What are the possibilities of colors of the children's skin color from white mother and brown skin father?

The father's family are white and brown and they have black uncles, what is the effet of those black members in the color of the children of these couple mentioned before?

What defines the human's skin color?
Skin color is pretty complicated. There are at least two things going on (and probably more).

First off, Caucasians tend to have two copies of a certain gene version that makes them more pale than everyone else (see http://www.thetech.org/genetics/news.php... for the details). This gene, first found in Zebra fish, is one of the reasons you occasionally hear stories about couples having children much lighter or darker than themselves.

But this gene isn't the whole story. Part of the reason we know this is Africans and Asians share the same darker version. But clearly Africans are darker on average than Asians. And there are lighter and darker Africans and lighter and darker Caucasians as well.

This second layer of skin color is thought to act a lot like hair color (see http://www.thetech.org/genetics/ask.php?... for the details). These genes act more like an additive effect (instead of a dominant-recessive one).

Let's say we have 8 of these genes. They can be either on or off. If they're all off, you are very pale and if they're all on you're darker. Imagine two parents have 4 on and 4 off genes each.

The most likely result is that the kids will have the same 4 on and 4 off. But it is possible that each parent will contribute 4 off genes (and so the child will be much lighter) or 4 on genes (and so the child would be much darker).

These two sets of genes work together to give skin color. Well, it probably isn't as simple as that. As you can tell, it isn't really possible to predict what skin color will result.
Reply:The amount of pigmentation
Reply:melanocytes in the skin determine the skin color
Reply:Human skin color is more complicated genetically than some other characteristics (like eye color). Keep in mind that uncles/aunts/cousins do not play a part in determining someone's genotype (genetic makeup). Only parents and grandparents contribute (and only parents directly contribute). So the black uncles won't really influence the child's skin color. If a man has black brothers and his skin is lighter, all that means is that one of his parents probably has darker skin. A white mother and brown father can produce a wide range of skin colors. They could have children anywhere from white to some color of brown. Here's how it works:

Human skin color isn't determined by just two genes, like AA or aa or Aa. It's determined by a string of genes, like ABCDEFG. Dark skin is dominant (capital letter) over light skin (lowercase letter). So here's how a white mother's skin genes might look: aabbCcddeeFfgg. It doesn't matter which letters (genes) are capitalized (dominant); all of them add up equally to give you the result (skin color). Here's how the brown father's skin genes might look: AAbbCcDdEEffGg. (Notice how he has more capital letters.) When those two people have kids, each of them will contribute one a, b, c, and so on to the child's skin color genes. That's why there's such a huge range of possibilities. Here's the lightest possible skin color code that they could produce for a child: AabbccddEeffgg. There's only 2 dominant alleles (capital letters) there. That child's skin would be lighter than the mother's! And here's the darkest skin color code they could produce for a kid: AabbCCDdEeFfGg. There's 7 dominant alleles (capital letters) there--the same as the father (result: skin that's about the same color as the father's--brown).

Usually, a child's skin color will be somewhere in the middle of his/her parents (because that's what's most likely statistically), but you can see how a child's skin color could be much lighter or darker than one parent, just because of how genetics works. Cool, huh?

Hope that helps answer your question!
Reply:there is a 50% percent chance that the children will have brown skin, and a 50% chance of having white skin. The father's family has no effect on what genes the father can pass onto his children. The father's and mother's genome effects the color of the children's skin.

Is true that us Human-Beings suppose to have Dark Skin?

I been hereing things like us humans need dark skin to protect us from the sun so we want get skin cancer or something like that but I'm debating is that true or not. I mean this not racists at all. I'm light skin African-American and the sun always wanted to follow me but I think it wants to be my friend or something because it always on me(LOL).

Is true that us Human-Beings suppose to have Dark Skin?
Wrong. Black people CAN get skin cancer they just wouldn't get it as easily as a white person. The reason black people are brown (so i don't know why they're called black) is because they have melanin in their skin. Melanin helps prevent the sun from damaging your skin cells. It is not 100% effective though so don't just assume that because you are black your skin can't get damaged because it can.
Reply:if you are closer to the equator then you will have dark skin.
Reply:Is being light skinned important to you?
Reply:Only the dark skinned people are supposed to be dark skinned.
Reply:Obviously not. If all human being were supposed to have dark skin...we'd all be dark skinned.

Our bodies are designed to be able to adapt to our environment. Africa's sunny, so you got dark skinned people. Europe is cold, so you got white people. etc...

Did you forget 8th grade biology?
Reply:yea white people just stayed inside too much
Reply:No. And what does your being 'light skinned' have to do with ANYTHING?
Reply:what was said is that havein dark skin protects us from the uv rays that the sun gives off it doesnt stop us from gettin skin cancer but the chances are less likely
Reply:I know what your saying I've heard it also(Because supposedly all human beings came from Africa so we are all suppose to be dark but then some decided to travel to Europe and after a while they became albino Blonde hair, blue eyes thus making up the white race (and that's why the white race gets skin cancer)I don't know if it is true though

But Black people can still get skin cancer just not as easily

Reply:Taghut (Satan), I was taught, is in a never-ending quest to destroy and conquer Africa by killing the black man...which can only truly be done by removing “the Proof” from his head. For without it, the Cushitic-Hebrew folktale goes, he is not really a black man.

And it wasn’t until I finally analyzed the self-destruction and the erasure of blackness in Black Americans and in Black British, and the ways that their legendary self-hate is now imported to Africa itself, that I began to take this folktale from my childhood seriously.

Many say that I, Kola Boof, am not “authentically” black, because I am the daughter of a white Arab Egyptian man. Of course, in Africa, because my skin is chocolate and I have “the Proof” of my ancestors growing from my scalp, I am considered a Black African woman, but to disgruntled Black Americans I say....fine. You can call me “inauthentic”, but I am still going to fight for the dignity and integrity of the Authentic Black people...and I will never promote the evil erasure of black people by claiming that Lenny Kravitz is a black man or that Vin Diesel is just as black as Denzel Washington or that Mariah Carey is black or that Halle Berry is just as black as Lauryn Hill. This is not only a lie to claim that Vin Diesel, Lenny Kravitz and Mariah Carey are black...but, historically, this has been a strategic tool in making authentic black people invisible and keeping them from having representation of their own group. By putting mixed and yellow people in their place, celebrating and elevating Mulatto images as “normal” and castigating Blackness as something to be “evolved” from..and in particular, this has been the way that the authentic Black woman’s image has been denigrated, disallowed and killed by her own black children in the west...by pretending that Lena Horne is the mother of the Black Americans, when the truth is...Esther Rolle and Cicely Tyson are what the mothers of the Black Ameicans actually looked like. The Black Americans being the children of the West and Central African Kingdoms.

If vampires are pale, what if they have dark-skin as a human?

Yeah, I know vampires aren't real. =)

But some vampires have pale skin when they are turned, but what if they have dark-skin as a human?

All the vampires I read about all have light-skin as a human. =/

If vampires are pale, what if they have dark-skin as a human?
It is a racism built into the original story.

Vampires were intended to represent the aristocracy and well to do. The "blue bloods" so called because their skin was so pale that you could see the veins in their body as blue because of light refraction and the fact that body fat is yellow so the dark red blood appears blue under the skin.

Simply stated, a vampire would never turn a dark skinned person. They would consume them for food.

If you read the original Dracula you will also discover that vampires do not turn men, they consume them too. Turning a person is like sex for a vampire and vampires only turn women because they do not want the competition.

Anne Rice and others like her have chosen to change the original concept to fit their writing style but the fact is there would be no dark skin vampires.

And actually, the vampire's appearance is pale because his blood is cold and after he eats he is temporarily flushed like anybody is who has had a transfusion of blood or blood products. You can check with a hospital on that fact.

Of course if you want a dark skinned vampire, read "Blade" or watch "Modern Vampires" or "A Vampire in Brooklyn" or even "Blackula". They all involve dark skinned vampires.
Reply:It is up to your imagination what you see what vampires should look like.
Reply:not blade
Reply:I know they do not exsist too but sometimes i like to think they do that is something that can happen
Reply:Maybe they do lose their melanin, and that would explain why they are sensitive to sunlight. Melanin gives skin a darker color. Their is actually only a very slight difference in the level of melanin in the darkest of skin tones and very fair skin. Albinos lack melanin, too.

I guess that would explain why Blade is not sensitive to light....Wesley Snipes is one dark-skinned dude.
Reply:Think about it. When a person with dark-skin gets sick they can get clammy and pale. So i guess it would be something like that
Reply:VAMPIRES ARE PALE BECAUSE THEY CANNOT GO INTO THE SUN. IF YOU HADN'T BEEN IN THE SUN FOR 200 OR 300 YEARS YOU'D BE PALE TO. IF THEY WERE DARK SKINNED BEFORE THEY WERE TURNED THEN THEY WOULD CONTINUE TO BE DARK SKINNED AFTER THEY ARE TURNED. I THINK THE PALE ONLY COMES INTO AFFECT IF YOU WERE WHITE OR LIGHT SKINNED BEFORE. A DARK SKINNED PERSON CAN ONLY BECOME SO PALE EVEN IF THEY DON'T GO INTO THE SUNLIGHT. OF COURSE WE RARELY READ ABOUT DARK SKINNED VAMPIRES. BLADE MOTHER MAYBE SHE STAYED DARK AFTER SHE WAS TURNED.
Reply:according to eclipse by stephanie meyer, their skin still gets really pale. there are mexican vampires in that book and she describes them as being pale.
Reply:Judging on how they change when they have light skin, they would turn my skin tone, but with an ashy look. Like ashy legs ashy, just more naturally blended in with the skin tone. And I'm saying this on the terms of Stephenie Meyer vampires. By the way to all of you poor, under-educated people out there, vampires do NOT turn to ash in sunlight, they merely get all sparkly. REALLY sparkly. Like, 'Oh em gee, mommy, look, there's a sparkly dude' sparkly. *nods head solemnly*

Aids is real, why can't the sci-ist develop drug that is resistant to stop semen from penetrating human skin?

they did its called a condom! now its up to the people to use it!

Aids is real, why can't the sci-ist develop drug that is resistant to stop semen from penetrating human skin?
The problem is that something else is penetrating, if an AIDS infected person's semen just gets on you you dont get AIDS.
Reply:Well, if they somehow suceeded in doing that- it would spell the end of the human race. Semen that could be repelled by skin would certainly not make it through the cellular membrane covering the ova for fertilization either. No fertilized ova, no human beings. And I hate to tell you, you don't get HIV via semen on the skin. It's spread primarily through blood contact, and through mucous membranes.
Reply:What good would that do?

HIV is a disease that is transmitted by direct body fluid contact.

Unless you had an open wound on your skin somewhere and somehow got semen in that open wound, there is no direct body fluid contact.

EMT
Reply:You seem to have a poor grasp of how viruses are transmitted. Skin needs to "breathe" and viruses are smaller than air molecules.
Reply:Aids is spread through the mucus membranes, not the skin.
Reply:HIV is passed through bodily fluids, not through general contact through the skin, unless you happened to get the semen of an infected person in an open cut or wound.

And if they had the capacity to make a drug that could do such a thing, wouldn't it be better to have a drug that will kill the HIV virus? Wouldn't that be better? Or better yet; a vaccine to prevent the disease from spreading altogether like they did with polio and small pox?

Your idea is not a practical one.
Reply:aids is a virus, very small

it is able to penetrate the cell membrane easily

if you make something to prevent things from going through the cell membrane, the organism will die from oxygen starvation first, and then by starvation of food combined with dehydration and cell poisoning by its own wastes

next question
Reply:Semen does not penetrate human skin. It penetrates areas which have mucus membranes. The virus is not only transmitted by semen, but also by "pre-***", vaginal fluid and vaginal secretion and all body fluids if it contains blood.
Reply:Dear Mr. Handsame,

Yes, AIDS is real. On the contrary, it is NOT contracted via semen penetrating human skin. The virus lives in body fluids. When body fluids are exchanged, the virus can be passed from one person to the other. Usually, exchange of body fluids involves parts of the body with mucus membranes (mouth, vagina, urethra in the penis, or rectum). Tissues that make up the mucus membranes are delicate, permeable and highly vascularized. That is why they are such good portals for transmission of the virus.

As far as answering why scientists can't develop a drug resistant to the virus........ Well, the sneaky thing about viruses is that they are able to totally change the way they look, act and react. A virus, everytime it replicates itself, will be an entirely new micro-organism. For this reason, scientist are not able to develope one drug resistant to the organism.

Anyone know what these are. They don't seem to bother her..they are just there in different areas of her body....back of the neck, nose, ear. I forgot to ask the vet about them at her last check-up. Thanks guys, you're always so helpful.

They ARE just skin tags. You can get them off by applying tea tree oil, or by tying fine thread on the base of them very tight and they will fall of..they don't seem to have any feeling, so dogs don't mind the thread.

Is it real that during II world war some german officers ordered GLOVES WITH HUMAN SKIN?

Yes, it's very true. People would order lamp shades, gloves, scarves, and various other materials.

These were made from the skin of captives that were held in concentration camps. I've listened to a woman's first hand account of her experience in a concentration camp. She said that there were rooms in her camp that were set aside for the storage of human skin. They would actually make surviving Jews go into these rooms with fresh bodies and skin them to add to the stockpile. Once they were finished, these bodies would be taken to another room where they would be dismembered and the body parts would be used for other morbid purposes. (She told us of one man who had ordered a foot to use as a pen holder.)

She also mentioned that some of these people weren't dead when they took their skin...

And to respond to Jean-Luc, it hasn't been discredited by anyone with ANY sort of merit whatsoever. Even if it had, I have spoken with survivors of the Holocaust who told me of these things from their PERSONAL experience. I'm pretty sure that trumps the "enlightened" reports of some idiot who never even lived during that time.

Reply:No - it's a thoroughly discredited myth, along with the soap and lampshade stories.

I've decided to edit and update this answer to explain a little more what I mean and to provide some examples.

The Holocaust is a highly emotive subject and rightly so. However, to question CERTAIN PARTS of the account does not make a Holocaust denier or, indeed, an anti-semite. These seem to be, unfortunately, weapons to stop debate.

One has to accept that, in war, the first casualty is the truth and that, very often, negative stories about the enemy become more and more polarised. For example, in the First World War the Germans were portrayed as bloodthirsty "Hun", raping virgins and ripping the limbs off babies. The "enemy" was demonised and we were conditioned to accept any level of brutality against "the Hun" as acceptable and necessary.

To understand the account of the Holocaust, a little understanding of the prevailing politics of the time would be useful. Since the turn of the century, the Zionists (don't confuse with Jews) had been pressing the west for assistance to establish a homeland in the Middle East, based on what they regarded as their ancestral lands. They wanted European Jews to emigrate to this new land and form a new nation - Israel. Unfortunately, european Jews didn't want to leave their lives, businesses etc and wern't interested in the idea. I bet you didn't know that once the Nazi's came into power in the 30's the only other political party allowed in Germany was the Zionist Party. Why? They both had the same aims - the repatriation of the Jewish population.

Fast forward a bit. In November 1942, Rabbi Michael Dov-Ber Weismandel, a Jewish activist in Slovakia approached Adoph Eichmann's representative, Dieter Wisliceny and queried how much would need to be paid to save ALL the European Jews.

The answer came back that for a mere $2 million they could have all the Jews in Western Europe and the Balkans. Weismandel sent a courier to the World Zionist Organization in Switzerland. His request was refused. The official, Nathan Schwalb sent enough money to save only Weismandel and his cadre. He wrote:

"About the cries coming from your country, we should know that all the Allied nations are spilling much of their blood, and if we do not sacrifice any blood, by what right shall we merit coming before the bargaining table when they divide nations and lands at the war's end? ....for only with blood shall we get the land." Bet you didn't know the Germans were happy to "sell" all those people. They could have been saved but the Zionists wouldn't pay. They new that their actions condemmed millions to death but also new that at the wars end, those who survived would be desperate to escape to safety.

We all know about the ensuing carnage, but where did the figure of six million come from? It came from a RUSSIAN ZIONIST. As a a leading member of the Soviet-sponsored Jewish Anti-Fascist Committee, Ilya Ehrenburg appeared at fund-raising rallies in the United States, raising support for the Communist cause while displaying fake bars of soap allegedly manufactured by the Germans from the corpses of dead Jews.

The crowning achievement of Ehrenburg's career came on December 22, 1944, when he became the first person to mention the figure of Six Million Jewish victims of the Nazi's and then proceeded to introduce that figure into Soviet propaganda, and which later became the "accepted" figure throughout the western world. Notice that figure was mentioned well before the war's end, whilst the killings were still going on.

I won't labour the point, but do you think it's possible that SOME of the "facts" of the Holocaust are residual propaganda, designed to demonise the Nazi's and drive the Jewish survivors to Israel, whose formation could now be justified by the very Nazi persecution and murders the Zionists knew would occour by their refusal to act?

History isn't always what you expect. I hope this small amount of information causes some of you to do some research and reach your own conclusions.
Reply:It seems unlikely that such minded German officers would have wanted to continually 'shake hands' with Jews, Gypsies of similar former camp inmates.
Reply:I don't think it's true about World War II but certainly in more ancient times it wasn't unheard of for the victors of various battles to commission clothing or mementoes made out of various body parts from the defeated.
Reply:No Jean-luc, it's not a myth, there is documented evidence of some Jews with tattoos who were lining up for the camps being taken out, shot in the head and their tattooed skin cut from their bodies, the skin was then treated and sewn together to make lampshades and other 'items of art'.

There is a book you should read. Published just after the war called the 'scourge of the swastika'. it's absolutely horrific.

Some of the things that the Nazi's did to the Jews are so taboo they are still not discussed, even to this day.

You must remember that the Nazi's considered the Jew's, amongst others, to be 'sub-human'. Therefore they were treated worse than animals, their lives simply did not matter to many of the Nazi's who ran the concentration camps.
Reply:Yes!The National Archives in

College Park, Maryland, has identified "a human skin lampshade, or part of

one," from the Nazi concentration camp at Buchenwald. The National Museum of

Health and Medicine holds three pieces of tattooed human skin, also from

Buchenwald.

Ilse Koch (her first name has two syllables; her last name sounds like the

Scottish "loch") is the most famous of all Germans accused of having

committed atrocities during the war. She was the wife of the commandant of

the Buchenwald camp. She was twice convicted in post-war trials, once by an

international court and once by her own country. The chief charges against

her were cruelty to inmates, including murder, but what she is best-known

for is the making of human-skin ornaments, including the lampshades of

which we've all heard.

It's exceedingly well-documented that such ornaments did exist; there's no

question but that someone made them out of human skin. When one can see a

book whose cover is tanned skin with a decorative tattoo on it, there's

little question that the skin was that of a human being. If one has any

doubt as to the origin of the substance, one should examine the forensic

report conducted on some of the skin. It concludes, based on microscopic

examination and the placement of the nipples and navel, that the skin was

certainly human.

Various Holocaust-deniers, however, have attempted to cast doubt upon the

existence of this skin, and upon the guilt of Ilse Koch in particular.

Arthur Butz writes:

The tattooed skin was undoubtedly due to the medical experiment role

of Buchenwald. As

remarked by [Christopher] Burney [a former inmate], when a Buchenwald

inmate died the camp

doctors looked his body over and if they found something interesting

they saved it. It is fairly

certain that the collection of medical specimens thus gathered was

the source of the tattooed skin

and the human head that turned up at the IMT as "exhibits" relating

to people "murdered" at

Buchenwald.

In 1948 the American military governor, General Lucius Clay,

reviewed her case and determined

that, despite testimony produced at her trial, Frau Koch could not be

related to the lampshades

and other articles which were "discovered" (i.e. planted) in the

Buchenwald commandant's

residence when the camp was captured in 1945. For one thing, she had

not lived there since her

husband's, and her own, arrest in 1943. Also her "family journal,"

said to be bound in human skin,

and which was one of the major accusations against her, was never

located, and obviously never

existed.

Already we have two explanations of the human-skin ornaments. It is

interesting to note that they are mutually exclusive. On the one hand,

according to Butz, the ornaments unquestionably did exist, since tattooed

skin was produced at the IMT, though it is "fairly certain" that the

"medical specimens" were simply cut from the corpses of inmates who died

naturally. On the other hand, the ornaments were "planted" by the Allies.

Butz can't have it both ways. He can claim that Ilse Koch is innocent

because the ornaments came from inmates who died of natural causes and not

murder; or, he can claim that the ornaments were forgeries, planted by the

Allies to incriminate the Nazis. To claim both is ludicrous. Yet this is

exactly what he does.

Butz's book was one of the earlier attempts at Holocaust denial, and later

efforts would refine it to a great degree. Such refinement is clearly

demonstrated by following deniers' claims about Ilse Koch.

In fact, in the same year that Butz's book was published, 1976, General

Lucius Clay gave an interview at the

little-known George C. Marshall Research Foundation, in which he indicated

that he believed that the human-skin ornaments were not in fact made of

human skin, but rather of goat skin. Mark Weber, now the Editor of the

Journal of Historical Review, became aware of this interview some years

later, after Clay had died (in 1978). He obtained a transcript, with the

aid of Robert Wolfe of the National Archives, now retired, who incidentally

is strongly opposed to Holocaust-denial. In 1987, Weber published his

findings in an article in the Journal of

Historical Review.
Reply:I don't know about that but I do know in one of the Concentration Camps the wife of the commander of the camp use to use tattooed skin of the victims of the camp to make lamp shades.
Reply:it is a fabrication along with lampshades and soap. Some historians are even starting to question the mass extermination of jews and even the figure of 6 million killed

see zundelsite.org if curious
Reply:doubtful, but who knows there were many atrocities from both sides in WW 2. i have seen pics of americans wearing necklaces of strung together japanese ears and pics of GIs holding decapitated japanese heads. war is hell
Reply:I heard that several were ordered, but more has sick jokes than for real use. I do know for a fact that hair from jews was used has filler in the seats of Mercedes
Reply:Submariners supposidly had socks made out of jews hair.

.
Reply:When the Germans started killing people wholesale they also took everything of use. Besides their teeth, glasses, hair, and skin. If someone had an interesting tattoo they would use the skin for lampshades and other things. They kept their clothes, shoes, any personal belongings. If you visit one of the concentration camps you can see this.
Reply:No. I am a collector of German WW2 memorabilia and I have never seen anything like uniform items made from human parts.

Officer gloves were made from Doe skin, wool, or silk. Nothing else.
Reply:That is called wartime propaganda. Like the one doing the rounds during the invasion of Iraq that Iraqis hate black people. All complete tosh.

What kind of parasitegrows out of a blister full of puss on the human skin, and it looks like a worm?

Several parasitic worms can infest the human body and erupt as described .

What kind of parasitegrows out of a blister full of puss on the human skin, and it looks like a worm?
Gross, call your Dr.!!!
Reply:Well, first of all, pus only has one "s". I'm not sure the answer to your question though.
Reply:That sounds like ringworm to me.

P.S.--I know ringworm is not actually a real worm (you just said it LOOKS like a worm)---however it is a fungus (kind of parasite) that grows in the skin.
Reply:There are flies and other critters which deposit their egg under the skin..But this does not occur if you have a blister created by burn or friction.. Unless it has been opened and a fly has deposited an egg there.. thus a maggot forms.
Reply:I think it is like what cows get....larva from a fly.....lays egg under skin and then pusses up like a nasty sore and a little worm (larva) comes out. Dont remember what they are called though.
Reply:It is called a botfly. A fly deposited her egg on you and you are the host. Watched a show about it once. If you are brave enough take tweezers and sterilize them, pull it out thru opening. the opening is where it breathes. or like the show said put a piece of fatty meat on the opening it will go thru that to get air. i'd just use tweezers
Reply:Ringworm is NOT a worm!!!

It is a fungus that causes a ring that LOOKS like it could be a worm but it isn't actually a worm. (PS the weblink states this VERY clearly)

Just need to point that out. Otherwise i have no clue what the thing growing out of your blister is, but it sounds ucky so go to a dr.
Reply:NO clue but ewe!

How are dead epidermal cells replaced by new epidermal cells in forg and human skin?

Skin, grows from the deep layers outwards.

The superficial layer of the skin, is called the epidermis, and is formed by 5 layers of cells, that are from deep to surface:

1.- Basal layer

2.- Epicanthal layer (acanthocytes),

3,. Translucid layer,

4,- Queratinocytes ( precursors of queratine)

5,. Keratine...

The queratine or Keratine (same thing) is a layer composed by dried dead cells, that are not anchored to the deeper layer.

They end up drying up and falling with bath, warm baths, etc (mechanical hygiene), and are substituted with more keratine en the next 2 days, by the queratinocytes below.....so its a constant turnover that arise from the basal layer (germinal layer)

How are dead epidermal cells replaced by new epidermal cells in forg and human skin?
Dead cells fall off and new cells are formed by mitosis (cells make copies of themselves).

Chemistry Question..What kind of bonds connect the atoms on the surface of human skin to the atoms in the air?

bonds are only formed between air and skin when the skin dies and begin to decay, or skin may consume oxygen in the air for its own sustenance.

Conclusions you can draw about pH of beverages, soaps, substances that normally touch human skin and detergent

Are there fabrics which react (change of color) to the hydration of the human skin?

Yes there is material that changes color with the contact of moisture. in fact they made some bathing suits out of it.

Is there any sort of gas exchange that is a function of human skin?

This was told to me in a college course and I had never heard anything like it and I'm a little skeptical since it was the first class. I've taken many science courses so i figured I had a good basic understanding of the body. Does this function exist? If yes then can you explain it?

Is there any sort of gas exchange that is a function of human skin?
Yes. Gas exchange does take place through human skin. There are tiny pores on our skin that actually breathe. Let me give you a practical example. Know why splashing water on your face makes you feel fresh? The reason is that water washes away the dirt and sweat from the pores making them clean and allowing the oxygen to pass freely. The breathing is somewhat less than 150ml/hr. The oxygen breathed by the pores makes feel active. it's just like the stomata under the plant leaves.
Reply:i'm afrid not... i'm realy a 16 year old in high school but i don't think that there's any gas exchange that is a function of human skin.
Reply:There is some very limited gas exchange via the epidermis in human, termed cutaneous or percutaneous gas exchange.

And it is VERY limited, less than 150mL/hr.

It isn't really very difficult to explain. Human skin isn't perfectly waterproof. There is still a slightly moist boundary between the capillaries and the air, and gasses can diffuse across any moist boundary. It's not a special physiological feature, it's just an accidental by produce of diffusion.

What problems, if any, will a tick head left in the human skin cause?

Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and lime disease are the worst you can get others include just local area irritation. when pulling off a tick use tweezers and please make sure you get the entire tick..

What problems, if any, will a tick head left in the human skin cause?
I got bit by one of these m'fers the other day. You may get lime disease. Do a google on Lime Disease.
Reply:It is likely to cause an abscess.

Some ticks also produce a venom, which has nasty effects. Try to remove it, if you can, without mashing it up much. If you cannot, get a Dr to remove it.
Reply:Rocky Mountain Fever or more commonly known as lyme disease.Seek medical help.
Reply:Even if you don't get a disease, you will get an infection. Get a doctor to make sure you get it all out. (Not fun, but better than the alternative. I've done it.)

Is it true that fireflies can cause rshes when they touch human skin ?

i remember it from school and im a little worried bcoz i think iv just seen one in my room but i cant find it now..

Is it true that fireflies can cause rshes when they touch human skin ?
I don't think fireflies cause rashes or other marks on human skin. I often used to visit a farm in upstate NY where there were many, and lots of kids around who liked being outside in the evening - no rashes, but plenty of fireflies (also called lightening bugs.) I seem to remember that they don't live very long at all, maybe just weeks. You probably won't see yours because of that. You can try doing an Internet search to learn more. I really think they are harmless.
Reply:Sheer bullshit. Where'd you hear that?

Fireflies are harmless. They don't bite or sting, like bees, wasps or spiders.

Reply:It's true, its tons of little flakes of shed dead skin, mixed in with some outdoors dirt for flavour.

As to the naked man under the couch, well I figure as long as he's a hottie, why not keep the little fella?

He can help you dust.
Reply:That's probably true but I am more concerned with human skin in the bed, you no bed bugs feed off our shedding skin while we sleep (gross) they are all over our bedding and mattress no matter how much u clean your sheets.
