If vampires are pale, what if they have dark-skin as a human?

Yeah, I know vampires aren't real. =)

But some vampires have pale skin when they are turned, but what if they have dark-skin as a human?

All the vampires I read about all have light-skin as a human. =/

If vampires are pale, what if they have dark-skin as a human?
It is a racism built into the original story.

Vampires were intended to represent the aristocracy and well to do. The "blue bloods" so called because their skin was so pale that you could see the veins in their body as blue because of light refraction and the fact that body fat is yellow so the dark red blood appears blue under the skin.

Simply stated, a vampire would never turn a dark skinned person. They would consume them for food.

If you read the original Dracula you will also discover that vampires do not turn men, they consume them too. Turning a person is like sex for a vampire and vampires only turn women because they do not want the competition.

Anne Rice and others like her have chosen to change the original concept to fit their writing style but the fact is there would be no dark skin vampires.

And actually, the vampire's appearance is pale because his blood is cold and after he eats he is temporarily flushed like anybody is who has had a transfusion of blood or blood products. You can check with a hospital on that fact.

Of course if you want a dark skinned vampire, read "Blade" or watch "Modern Vampires" or "A Vampire in Brooklyn" or even "Blackula". They all involve dark skinned vampires.
Reply:It is up to your imagination what you see what vampires should look like.
Reply:not blade
Reply:I know they do not exsist too but sometimes i like to think they do that is something that can happen
Reply:Maybe they do lose their melanin, and that would explain why they are sensitive to sunlight. Melanin gives skin a darker color. Their is actually only a very slight difference in the level of melanin in the darkest of skin tones and very fair skin. Albinos lack melanin, too.

I guess that would explain why Blade is not sensitive to light....Wesley Snipes is one dark-skinned dude.
Reply:Think about it. When a person with dark-skin gets sick they can get clammy and pale. So i guess it would be something like that
Reply:VAMPIRES ARE PALE BECAUSE THEY CANNOT GO INTO THE SUN. IF YOU HADN'T BEEN IN THE SUN FOR 200 OR 300 YEARS YOU'D BE PALE TO. IF THEY WERE DARK SKINNED BEFORE THEY WERE TURNED THEN THEY WOULD CONTINUE TO BE DARK SKINNED AFTER THEY ARE TURNED. I THINK THE PALE ONLY COMES INTO AFFECT IF YOU WERE WHITE OR LIGHT SKINNED BEFORE. A DARK SKINNED PERSON CAN ONLY BECOME SO PALE EVEN IF THEY DON'T GO INTO THE SUNLIGHT. OF COURSE WE RARELY READ ABOUT DARK SKINNED VAMPIRES. BLADE MOTHER MAYBE SHE STAYED DARK AFTER SHE WAS TURNED.
Reply:according to eclipse by stephanie meyer, their skin still gets really pale. there are mexican vampires in that book and she describes them as being pale.
Reply:Judging on how they change when they have light skin, they would turn my skin tone, but with an ashy look. Like ashy legs ashy, just more naturally blended in with the skin tone. And I'm saying this on the terms of Stephenie Meyer vampires. By the way to all of you poor, under-educated people out there, vampires do NOT turn to ash in sunlight, they merely get all sparkly. REALLY sparkly. Like, 'Oh em gee, mommy, look, there's a sparkly dude' sparkly. *nods head solemnly*
